For PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, GTA 5 Expanded and Enhanced, as well as the online game, will be released on the 15th of March.

On March 8, a week before the game’s release, it will be available for pre-order and pre-loading. Physical copies will be available in April, therefore this will only be accessible for digital editions for now.

Here’s all you need to know about the pre-order

Rockstar has announced the pre-order details for Grand Theft Auto 5 on PS5 and Xbox Series X in their latest update on the matter. Players can pre-order the game one week before its official release on March 15. Starting on 8th of March, it will be possible to pre-load it into consoles.

Players of the Xbox Series X/S will be able to do so through the Microsoft Store, and PlayStation 5 users will have to go through the PS5 store. Rockstar hasn’t mentioned the price yet, but it’s almost probably not going to be free. The size of the game is also unknown, however it is likely to be larger than the edition we have now.

Moreover, both the single-player and multiplayer versions of GTA 5 will be sold separately. This gives gamers the option of purchasing both games as a bundle or purchasing GTA Online separately. As the extra Story Mode data will no longer be required, the download time will be reduced.

Can I migrate my data?

Another thing console gamers should do is save their Story Mode progress on the server so that they can access it later in the updated edition. Uploading a save to the Rockstar Games Social Club is one way to do it. Players must first run GTA 5 on their existing console account and go to the Game tab in the pause menu.

They’ll find the Upload Save Game option there. You should bear in mind that you can only save one game per platform at a time, and saves are only available for 90 days after they are downloaded.
