WhatsApp is in a war with the developers of the unofficial version and with the users who tried this application, lured by the additional features which make the WhatsApp Plus a better application. Therefore, to teach them a lesson, WhatsApp slapped the ones who were caught using the unofficial version, with a 24-hour ban. In their turn, the developers of WhatsApp Plus released an APK file which helps the users not get banned from officials.
WhatsApp Plus grew up in the shadow of the original application and managed to steal its users by offering them similar, but improved features. First of all, to use this messaging application, you don’t need to sign up, or link your account to a Facebook profile, or to add friends. Once you install it, you’ll enjoy its variety of features, some of them focusing more on the privacy of the user.
So, on WhatsApp Plus you can change the color of the header, the background; send videos of up to 50MB (WhatsApp allows a maximum size of only 16GB); hide your online status to not be bothered by stalkers (this option isn’t available on WhatsApp); send high quality images, not pixelated; change the theme as you’ll have an entire collection at your disposal; share your location so that your friends will know where to find you.
To benefit from these features, many people prefer the unofficial version, by the creators of WhatsApp don’t like the idea of letting their users betray them and they banned them for 24 hours, to make them return to the original application.
Meanwhile, the creators of WhatsApp Plus released a new APK file with which the users can avoid the ban. This is what they have to do, to make this work. To not lose their conversations, the users must back up their messages, then uninstall the original application and download and install the WhatsAppPlus6.76.apk file. They will need to specify their phone number and click Continue, then enter their number and click on Restore.
WhatsApp Plus isn’t legal, but many people risk to get a permanent ban for using it, to the detriment of WhatsApp. The originals explained in the company’s FAQ page that “WhatsApp Plus is an application that was not developed by WhatsApp, nor is it authorized by WhatsApp. The developers of WhatsApp Plus have no relationship to WhatsApp, and we do not support WhatsApp Plus. Please be aware that WhatsApp Plus contains source code which WhatsApp cannot guarantee as safe and that your private information is potentially being passed to 3rd parties without your knowledge or authorization”.
