HP Omni 10 Tablet vs. Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 – Comparison of Budget-Friendly Tablets

It comes in super thin design and superior internals. It is a competent tablet from Samsung. The tablet reveals the Company’s aim to take the tablet market by storm. Design and Handling

The HP Omni 10 is decently built and is lightweight. It caters the user with various functionalities that one would relish in their tablet. The curved back provides a pleasant touch. The rear comes with graphite finish offering warm and soft feel along with secure grip. Handling is comfortable with its lightweight body.

The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 offers design similar to other Samsung siblings. A punctured faux leather finish caters an astounding appearance. The device measures 6.6mm in thickness, but comes with strong build quality. The S 8.4 weighs 294 grams and is 212.8mm in height and 125.6mm in width providing a pleasurable handling experience. Display

The HP Omni 10 includes a bigger 10-inch Gorilla Glass 3 protected display. The display has a moderate resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels ushering the Omni 10 into full-sized tablet realm.

In comparison, the Tab S 8.4 incorporates a remarkable 8.4-inch display having WQXGA technology. The display caters a bigger resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels resulting in an outstanding 359-ppi of pixel density.

Operating System

The HP Omni 10 Tablet employs standard Windows 8.1 apps. The device incorporates the HP QuickStart trial versions along with HP Connected Photo and Microsoft Office Home.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 functions on the updated Android OS 4.4.2 KitKat version. Samsung’s depth of customization completely outshines Google’s platform. The Samsung slate employs TouchWiz user interface accompanied with Magazine user interface for home screens.

The HP Omni 10 Tablet consists of a Z3770 chipset, designed by Intel Atom accompanied with a quad core processor. The quad cores are set to run at top 2.4GHz and 1.4GHz of speed in turbo mode and normal mode respectively. The device offers a bigger 2GB DDR3 SDRAM for smooth functionality of HP tablet.

Samsung’s improved Exynos 5 based Octa 5420 chipset and Cortex A15 1.9GHz along with Cortex A7 1.3GHz quad core processors power the Tab S 8.4. In addition, Mali-T628 MP6 GPU and superior 3GB of RAM offers perfect functioning.

Memory and Battery

HP Omni 10 Tablet comes with internal memory of 32GB. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 provides two internal storage capacity options – 16GB and 32GB. It also offers additional memory up to 128GB.

HP Omni 10 Tablet offers a 31Wh capacity battery with battery life of 8.5 hours. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 employs a non-removable modest Li-Ion battery with 4900-mAh capacity.
