Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro vs Apple Mac Book Air – Which Is The Best Note Book?

Apple is known for making powerful devices and not only its iPhones deserve applause, but the tablets and laptops as well. And the Mac Book Air is famous for its flexibility in usage, the first model being released back in 2008. Since then, not less than 10 models saw the sunlight, the last one (MacBookAir6,2) being released in April. Lenovo, on the other hand, received many positive feedbacks for its Yoga 3 Pro, which is considered half tablet-half notebook.

Designs

The Yoga 3 Pro was praises for its full 360 degree hinge and four modes: Watch – where the position of the laptop is an inverted V; Work – the laptop is in its normal position; Watch and Read. The tablet measures 299.7×228.6x13mm, making it one of the slimmest laptops on the market. As for the exterior, its shell is made from metal hybrid with plastic. The MacBook Air looks more premium thanks to the aluminum design, but it’s thicker and its dimensions are 325x227x17mm.

Displays

The MacBook Air has either a 11.6inches display with a resolution of 1366x768pixels (16:9), or a 13.3inches display with two variants of resolutions: 1280x800pixels (16:10) or 1440x900pixels (16:10). Yoga 3’s display supports multitouch, and it’s sized at 13.2inches, being a QHD display with a resolution of 3200x1800pixels. The MacBook Air weights 1342 grams, with 118grams more than the Lenovo laptop.

Processors

The Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro is powered by an Intel Core M 5Y70 1.1GHz processor and has integrated graphics, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of Flash Hard Drive. The first MacBook Air came either with a 1.6GH or 1.8GH Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 4MB on-chip L2 cache and had Intel GMA X3100 graphics. The latest model is using a 1.4GHz (i5-4260U) dual core Intel Core i5 processor with 3MB shared L3 cache and an optional variant powered by a 1.7GHz (i7-4650U) dual core Intel Core i7 processor with 4 MB shared L3 cache, having Intel HD Graphics 5000 and 4GBof RAM. The Flash Hard Drive has a capacity of 128GB or 256GB.

Operating Systems

The Lenovo laptop operates on Microsoft’s Windows 8.1 OS, while the MacBook Air has OS X Yosemite.

Cameras

The first MacBook Air came with an iSight (640x480pixels) camera, and the latest model has a FaceTime HD (720p) camera. The Yoga 3 Pro is equipped with an integrated 720p camera.

Batteries

The 11inches MacBook Air is powered by a 38-watt-hour battery, while the 13inch model has a 54-watt-hour battery. These batteries can offer up to 12hours of backup. Yoga 3’s built-in 44 Whr Li-Polymer battery can last up to nine hours.

Prices

On Amazon, the Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro can be found at the price of $1299, while the MacBook Air can be purchased from e-shopping carts at the price of $899.
