The Asus phone is a Lollipop based one and comes in a hard plastic body offered in several colors, such as silver, red and others. The screen is a 5.5 inches one, Full HD screen, with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The screen resolution is 1080 x 1920 pixels with 403 ppi. It is quite hefty at 170g and is 6 inches long. The home; back and the window buttons are small and unobtrusively placed at the bottom. It is 10.9 mm thick, with the thickness mainly due to the back panel that is replaceable and allows you to swap SIM cards. It has a battery of 3000 mAh capacity and can charge in about forty minutes, but the battery is not replaceable. The size and weight of the phone might be a problem to some, but it is attractive, especially due to the various color options provided.

Neat Features and Tricks

Cool Start

One of the best features is the time saving feature. You can scribble commands like letter C even from the locked position. The device immediately opens the app that is predetermined with this code. For instance, if you draw C, the camera gets unlocked or if you draw W, the web browser is unlocked. Users can set the commands to different apps, so you can also set W for Facebook feed instead. However, you can only set a maximum of five commands.

Double Tap for Shrink

This is another innovative and neat trick of the Asus Zenfone 2. You can tap the thumb on the screen for shrinking the desktop size and bring it to 60% of the normal size, which is very useful for one-handed use of your device.

Other Specs and Features

The Asus Zenfone 2 comes with a 13 MP primary camera and a front facing camera of 5 MP, with both having an f/2.0 aperture. The interesting feature of these cameras is the enhancements made to the low light modes due to the Pixel Master. It can make photographs 400% brighter.

Hardware Specs

A 64 bit, Intel Quadcore, Z3580 processor clocking at a speed of 2.3 GHz, powers it. The phone is quick and zippy and can accomplish most tasks quite easily.

The processor is frugal and quick, offering an excellent gaming experience, which is seven times more when compared to the predecessor. You have two hardware options, with the basic one of 2 GM RAM combined with a quad core processor clocking at 1.8 GHz. The other option is the more expensive one with 4 GB of RAM combined with a CPU clocking at 2.33 GHz. The microSD card allows various storage options of 16 GB; 32 GB; and 64 GB.

Verdict

The Asus Zenfone 2 comes with a lot of nifty or cool features offered in a speedy mobile device. You will love its looks and feel. It also offers many time saving and space saving features. Shutterbugs will love the 13 MP camera and the battery that charges quickly. It comes in a stunning design and several attractive colors. It also has a quick processing speed. However, on the downside, it is rather heavy and thick. It is also not very fast when compared to the competition, so it is probably a device that is placed on the lower end of the latest upper end devices.
