Minecraft Xbox One/PS4 vs Xbox 360/PS3 – Improvements and Differences

Minecraft was released for the next-generation consoles in September. To be more specific, it got released on September 4 for PlayStation 4 and on September 5 for Xbox One.

Many Minecraft fans have waited for this game to be released on these two consoles, as the developers said that the game will come with improved draw distance, larger worlds and many more. The improved draw distance means that we can see more far instead of seeing just fog.

In addition, Minecraft’s “veterans” that have played this game for quite a while on their Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 are able to save their worlds and import them to Xbox One and PlayStation 4. This way, they will not have to start from scratch and instead, just continue playing the world they worked on for weeks or months.

However, it is good to know that currently the Minecarft: Xbox 360 maps will remain at the same size when they will be imported to Xbox One, but this will most likely change sometime in the near future.

Minecraft on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 comes with maps that are 32 times bigger than the ones from Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. However, these are still quite small compared to the “infinite” maps that are available on the Minecraft: PC version.

It is good to know that if you bought some DLCs on your Minecraft: Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 and if they are available on Minecraft: Xbox One or PlayStation 4, you will be able to get them for FREE. Check this by going to the console store and look for add-ons that are available for FREE.

Of course, Minecraft is awesome on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and we’re pretty sure that Mojang (Microsoft) is preparing us some great add-ons for Minecraft on these two consoles in the near future. While there are still a lot of players who are not sure if they should upgrade to Xbox One or PlayStation 4, we suggest them to do it, because sooner or later they will have to. Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 are both outdated and the developers will start releasing soon games that will be available ONLY for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

At the end of this article we’ll let you watch a graphics comparison made by Eurogamer for Minecraft: Xbox 360 and Minecraft: Xbox One.
