Elden Ring Might Not Be Optimized for PC at Launch and Here’s Why

FromSoftware has been working really hard on Elden Ring, but the problem is that fans are worried about the optimization of the PC version after the system requirements of the game were published on the internet.

When it comes to the gameplay, the company has gone hard, and the visuals were good for PCs. But this is not the case with Elden Ring.

We’ve seen the minimum system requirements for Elden Ring , and this is definitely not what we expected.

These are the minimum specs

  • OS: Win10 or 11 (64-bit)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 3 3300X
  • Memory: 12 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3 GB or AMD Radeon RX 580 4 GB
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: 60 GB

So at the lowest, Elden Ring needs a GTX 1060. This one is a GPU from three generations earlier of Nvidia, but it is still very powerful, and it’s really not a minimum spec, even in recent games.

We think that Elden Ring will do more in terms of visuals, but still, requiring GTX 1060 for minimum is…a lot.

These games require less, and they have realistic visuals:

  • Days Gone: GTX 660
  • Death Stranding: GTX 1050
  • Forza Horizon 5: GTX 970
  • Red Dead Redemption 2: GTX 770
  • Mafia Definitive Edition: GTX 660
  • Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: GTX 960

Elden Ring will soon be released, but some of the games above have more realistic visuals, and they do require lower-spec GPUs. So we are a bit afraid that the game will not be optimized for PC at launch. That, or the company has increased the specs so that the gameplay will run smooth, even if it means that the number of players will not be that high.
