Microsoft WiFi – Free Mobile And Desktop Internet Project

A new report is circulating on the internet and it’s about an internal project of Microsoft called “Microsoft WiFi”, which is a rebranded service based on Skype WiFi. The leaked information will revolutionize the modern world, because the users will have access to “hassle-free” Internet.

We all dream of having access to free internet, everywhere we’d go. Sounds impossible? Not to Microsoft, which, apparently, is working on a project called Microsoft WiFi that was leaked through the microsoftwifi.com website. After the information was published, the website was taken down, and Microsoft wouldn’t have had any reason to do that if the information would have been fake. And since the internet is a very open place where news circulates with the speed of light, this website was discovered immediately by a Twitter user and he passed on the information, reaching our eyes.

Meanwhile, Microsoft confirmed that the service exists: “We can confirm that we are working on a new service, called Microsoft WiFi, that will bring hassle-free Wi-Fi to millions. We look forward to sharing additional detail when available”.

So what is Microsoft WiFi?

Microsoft WiFi will be delivered as a cross-platform application (remember Skype WiFi?) and will be compatible with devices running on Windows, Mac OS X, Android, iOS and Windows Phone. The microsoftwifi.com website claimed that this project will be beneficial to all the users, because they will “be productive on the go and enjoy hassle-free internet access around the world”.

How will it work?

When the users will in the range of free WiFi hotspot, the Microsoft WiFi service will come into play and provide users personal information: names, addresses and email addresses, by allowing a single sign-on, but only “eligible” people will be able to connect. We don’t really understand what “eligible” is supposed to mean, but at least the users with WiFi providers will be able to use an interactive map within the application.
