Clash of Clans vs. Boom Beach – Comparing Apples and Oranges

Supercell has brought in two major applications for gamers to enjoy, Clash of Clans and Boom Beach.

Clash of Clans is known to be very addictive and is fun, with a lot of strategy involved in the gameplay. However, Boom Beach also comes from the same developers and brings in a similar gameplay and experience. The Clan Wars update is the latest one for Clash of Clans and has made the game even more popular and addictive. However, Boom Beach also enjoys the same popularity as it has very good graphics.

Less Building Time

If you have shifted from Clash of Clans to Boom Beach, you will find that it does not take much time for upgrading buildings in Boom Beach. It takes only about two to three days, whereas it can take weeks for upgrading Clash of Clans to the maximum level. Also, diamonds can be used for speeding things up in Boom Beach.

Both the games are based on the same theme and have similar graphics. But the concepts of the game are different. Team play as well as strategy is a common part of both the games, with the player having to strategically manage his armies. Both involve raising armies and also attacking as well as building defense. The attraction in both these games is that the player has to think like an enemy and know what they enemy is thinking all the time. Players have to think of ways of making their base strong enough, so that no can break into it. They must also set traps, so that a single troop will not be able to conquer their territory.

Players have to place the walls in such a way that the attacking troop will not be able to break it. When there is an option of seeking help from air defense or from upgrading your army camp, you have to select the right option; otherwise it might lead to failure. These are some of the aspects that make Boom Beach and Clash of Clans very interesting to play.

Clash of Clans – Frustrating

The game could be rather frustrating in the single player mode. When you attack and get the gold and the elixir, you still lose the battle and are not able to get any resources. However, you can get resources when you win a battle in Boom Beach. The missions also keep appearing again and again, so you can also play against the computer without a problem. Boom Beach also comes with a Gunboat that supports you while attacking. You can use it for destroying towers or for other defensive buildings. The flares in the gunboat can be used for guiding troops and this prevents them from going straight into a mine and dying. However, in Clash of Clans, the troops are most likely to attack a preferred target or the nearest one. In short, Boom Beach offers greater control over the troops and this is more fun than the experience in Clash of Clans.

Clash of Clans focuses on multiplayer wars and has more to do with a clan opposing another clan. On the other hand, Boom Beach is more about making conquests and not merely about attacking and defending. The mechanical upgrades in Boom Beach are also faster than those of Clash of Clans.

It all depends on individual playing style and preferences. Both Clash of Clans and Boom Beach are from the same developers, Supercell and you can play both the games for hours. They are both addictive and popular. Boom Beach is better for playing in short spurts all through the day and has very good graphics. On the other hand, you can play for hours while farming for a particular upgrade. Both are similar, but also different, so it is like comparing apples and oranges.
