Android Lollipop 5.1 Release – New Build Incoming, What To Expect From It?

A few months back, Android introduced their latest Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system to the world. Even though there are still  hundreds of devices that haven’t received the update yet, it seems like Google is ready for the next step (although many devices might not be). This means that Android is prepared to drop its 5.1 build.

The Android One handsets from the Philippines are already enjoying the newest build, and so are the Android users in Indonesia. The rest of the world should receive the update pretty soon, especially after several manufacturers drop their Google Play Edition phones, such as Motorola or Samsung. These handsets alongside the Nexus line should be first to get the update.

There are some rumors going on regarding the 5.1 update for Lollipop. Some claim that the build is simply what you may call a maintenance patch, which takes care of bugs and other problems found within the OS. Others, on the other hand, believe that the 5.1 firmware will come with some material improvements as well. Some of the improvements reported by the likes of Android Police, which released screenshots featuring the 5.1 build, include Bluetooth and Wifi behavior improvements, ad also notification related improvements.

Allegedly, Android 5.1 users will be able to use WiFi or Bluetooth to connect with another device, right from the notification area, making it more convenient. There will also be several arrows on the connectivity options, so that you may be able to turn on, turn off, switch and what not very quick.

You can also expected a revamped version of the clock app, which now features brand new animations. Some bugs that got on people’s nerves are probably taken care of in this patch, and the Silent Mode issue was probably addressed as well.
