Motorola Droid Turbo vs. Apple iPhone 5C – Which Phone is packed with Superior Features?

The Motorola Droid Turbo has grabbed the attention of prospective smartphone buyers since its launch in August 2014.

As Motorola is making endless efforts for capturing the top spot in the industry of smartphones, the Droid Turbo has been playing a remarkable role towards the achievement of the company’s goal. While Motorola is struggling for a reputable spot, Apple is enjoying its reign. One of its popular phones, the iPhone 5C, has set a huge buzz in the market for its design and performance. The Droid Turbo has a sleek design with curved edges. It has the dimensions of 143.5×73.3×8.3 mm and weighs 169g. The front panel of the smartphone has a speaker and front camera on the upper section, while there are three soft-touch buttons on the lower section. The rear panel contains a camera, accompanied by two LED Flash and the Motorola logo.

On the contrary, the iPhone 5C has a smooth design with glossy model. The dimensions of the phone are 124.4×59.2×9 mm and its weight hits the scales at 132g. As it is smaller and lighter than its competitor, the iPhone 5C is more convenient to operate using one hand. The front panel of the iPhone has a speaker and front camera on the upper section and the signature home button at the lower portion. The rear panel consists of the camera, LED Flash and the Apple logo.

While the Motorola smartphone comes with a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, the iPhone 5C offers a 4-inch LED-backlit IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. The Droid Turbo runs on 2.7 GHz Krait 450 Quad Core processor with Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset. On the other hand, the iPhone 5C performs tasks due to the presence of 1.3 GHz Swift Dual Core processor with the Apple A6 chipset. This means that the Droid Turbo has better configuration for running high resolution applications and games. In terms of operating system, the iPhone runs on the Apple’s iOS 7 whereas the Motorola device features the Android 4.4.4 (KitKat).

When it comes to storage, the two phones come in several versions on the basis of internal capacity. While the Droid Turbo offers 32 GB and 64 GB of internal storage, the iPhone 5C provides an option to choose from 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB. The presence of external card slot is not found in both the phones.

The Motorola Droid dominates the battle against the iPhone 5C with its superior features. However, when pricing is taken into consideration, users might change their choice. This is because the iPhone costs €360, whereas the price tag of the Motorola smartphone is €120 higher. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Motorola Droid phone is the more preferable device for buyers who prefer features over price, whereas iPhone is suitable for users who prefer lower priced phones.
