NFTs are conquering the world, and many of the world’s biggest tech companies are looking into this niche venture because it has a lot of potential and great earnings. And if what Mark Zuckerberg says is true, we might see them on Instagram, soon.
Early in 2022, Twitter announced a new feature that let users upload NFTs as display pictures. This was Twitter’s first step into the world of NFTs.
YouTube, which lets people watch videos online, also added this idea, by saying that they might soon add NFTs to their platform. But does Instagram work with NFTs as well?
NFTs on Instagram
Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, reportedly set the rumor market on fire when he said that Instagram NFTs would soon be available on the app. Zuckerberg gave new information about the NFT integration on the app while he was at the SXSW conference in Texas. He said that the platform could add a new NFT feature soon, saying:
“We are working on bringing NFTs to Instagram in the near term.” He also added: “I’m not ready to announce exactly what that’s going to be today, but, over the next several months, the ability to bring some of your NFTs in, and hopefully over time be able to mint things within that environment.”
He said that he hopes that the clothing on your avatar from the Metaverse can be an NFT, which you can take between different places.
When people on other social media sites heard that Instagram would support NFTs, they were happy. In response to the news, the cryptocurrency exchange Binance tweeted that now might be a good time to buy more NFTs.
Meta recently confirmed that its Instagram photo and video sharing platform would also support NFTs from different blockchains, including Solana, Ethereum, Flow, and Polygon.
