After Activision confirmed that Call of Duty 2022 would be a sequel to 2019’s Modern Warfare, the game’s publisher has shown off the key art for Modern Warfare 2, which is the next game from Infinity Ward.
Even though there have been a lot of leaks about the game, there hasn’t been much official information about it. This has made many people wonder what the developer has prepared for us.
Activision also shared the Modern Warfare 2 release date, which is a little earlier than expected. They also showed some epic artwork of Task Force 141 getting back together.
When will Modern Warfare 2 be released?
At the end of the trailer, it is confirmed that Modern Warfare 2 will come out on October 28, 2022. The trailer also shows the key artwork for the legendary Modern Warfare 2 character Simon “Ghost” Riley. Vanguard came out in November, so the October release is a little bit early, but there’s a good reason for it.
Activision says that the poor Vanguard sales are one of the reasons why the number of Call of Duty players has dropped by 50 million in the last year. They are going back to World War II.
In the same way, the release date for Modern Warfare 2 isn’t too far from when Modern Warfare came out in 2019. The prequel came out on October 25, 2019.
Along with the artwork and the final release date, the trailer has a blue shipping container that says “J.8.22” on it. This could be a hint at a full reveal date for the game’s different features. Judging by how the community has responded, everyone is excited about it. We can only wait and see how it all turns out.
