Earlier this year, investors put $5 million into the open-world, decentralized game Illuvium. When will the blockchain-based game come out?
Illuvium will be one of many new NFT games out there. This includes games like Axie Infinity, Bomb Crypto, and a Shiba Inu game prepared for the future.
Here’s when you can expect to enter the world of Illuvium.
So when is the release date?
Kieran Warwick, one of the co-founders of Illuvium, said on August 30 on Discord that the release date for Illuvium has been moved even further into 2022.
“It was always a challenge to deliver a AAA title in the time-frame set, and we (mainly me) were probably a little naive thinking we could do it in 2021, but rest assured, our team is firing on all cylinders,” said Warwick.
Illuvium will come out as an Open Beta in the first quarter of 2022. Before, it was supposed to come out in December 2021. The team wants to “look to include a larger scope.”
The co-founder of Illuvium says that the team is “about 20% off” from where it needs to be. Illuivum has hired a full-time recruitment team to cut down on the chance of more delays.
Before this Open Beta delay, the full release of Illuvium was supposed to happen in the fourth quarter of 2021. However, that date has now been moved to 2022.
Previous roadmaps and Illuvium’s current tFAQs said the game could come out in the third quarter of 2021, which ends in September.
The mobile version is likely to come out after the PC version. This should happen in 2022, and Illuvium has also said that console versions are in the works.
Then, in 2023, a “Second Major Illuvium Title” will come out.
But these dates could still change if there are problems with how things are going.
The company has just started selling Illuvium to gamers, so they can buy virtual plots of land to use in the game. There are 20,000 plots of land that can be mined. Players can use these plots to build industrial complexes and get different kinds of resources in the game.
