Earlier this week, the spectacular gameplay video for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was released, revealing new locations, characters and the announcement of an open beta featuring priority access for all those that pre-order. Amazon seems to have made a mistake by suggesting that the beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 might begin as early as August.
Recent weeks have seen a flurry of fresh information and teasers for Modern Warfare 2, the highly anticipated sequel from Infinity Ward. Modern Warfare 2’s pre-order incentives and the Vault Editions, which includes four Red Team 141 operatives and the s 1 Battle Pass, will be normal Call of Duty material. Early access to that same open beta may be forthcoming for those who pre-order the basic or vault editions.
Full access to the Open Beta will be given to fans which pre-order Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on just about any platform before August 15th. The codes will be sent out on August 15th. If Amazon’s ad is correct, the beta will begin on August 15th for those who pre-ordered the product. Even though Amazon has pulled down their Modern Warfare 2 – beta code blurb, images of the leak may still be seen available on the internet.
Modern Warfare 2’s beta could be published “at least five days” just prior to Xbox and PC versions, although neither Activision and neither Infinity Ward have commented on the exact date. While Call of Duty has always given PlayStation priority access to betas, it has also expanded its testing grounds nearer to the final game’s launch. Modern Warfare 2’s purported mid-August beta testing is a bit of an outlier, considering Call of Duty Vanguard & Black Ops Cold War conducted their betas in September & October, respectively.
