NFL’s Walter Payton Man of the Year Award: London Fletcher, Mike Furrey, Brian Waters are Finalists
The NFL has announced Browns WR Mike Furrey, Chiefs G Brian Waters and Redskins LB London Fletcher are the three finalists for the Walter Payton Man of the Year award.

The award, named for the late Hall of Fame running back Walter Payton, which goes annually to the player who combines on-field excellence with off-the-field community service.
Recent winners include Kurt Warner of the Cardinals in 2008, Jason Taylor of the Dolphins in 2007, and Drew Brees of the Saints and LaDainian Tomlinson of the Chargers, co-winners in 2006.
The winner will be announced live on CBS before the Super Bowl on Feb. 7.
Cardinals QB Kurt Warner and Dolphins LB Jason Taylor were the last two winners of the Walter Payton award.
Said Fletcher of being nominated, "It's extremely special. Walter Payton, I looked up to him when I was a youngster back in elementary school and junior high.
"I remember the way he was as a player and also the things he did off the field. To be mentioned as a finalist for an award named after him makes it even more special."
The finalists are chosen by the league panel headed by commissioner Roger Goodell that considers nominees from all 32 teams.
