American Idol Chicago: Charity Vance
Charity Vance, a 16–year-old student from Little Rock, wowed the judges with her unique performance of “Summertime.” “Wow. I was really impressed,” Randy said. The other judges agreed with Randy and sent Charity, who is the daughter of two hairstylists, on to the Hollywood round.
Charity Vance sings for her parents' salon customers and thinks she's honed her skills there. I hope that she is good because how much torture would that be if you were trapped with your hair in foils or something while someone's kid sang horrendously in the salon. The judges are surprised by how good her voice is. They say it's not a big voice, but it's a good and unique one.
