Ricky Gervais 2010 In London

Ricky Gervais will now bring his latest stand-up show: Science to the capital, with two dates announced in April.

The 48-year-old comedian will perform at Wembley Arena on 26th and 27th April before jetting back to the US for two more gigs at Madison Square Gardens in New York and the Nokia Theatre in LA.

2010 is shaping up to be another busy year for Gervais: after hosting the Golden Globes this weekend, he will release an animated series of The Ricky Gervais Show on HBO and Channel 4 in March, as well as a new film Cemetery Junction (co-written wth Stephen Merchant) in April. His children's book Flanimals has been optioned for a Hollywood movie.

He said that although The Office had been shown in 90 different countries, he would only plan to perform in 20 for his stand-up performances. He revealed that a few larger gigs would be included, such as in arenas and even stadiums.

The comic actor said that he was increasingly enjoying performing stand-up stints. He talked about his stroke of luck with his show, which has opened doors for him, adding that he felt a little guilty over the fact that he had it easy while other stand-up comedians may struggle for years before getting an act on TV.
